Wrinkled hornbills live in forests in the Thai-Malay peninsula, Sumatra, and Borneo. It was fun to paint their large colourful bills, so different from the North American songbirds that are familiar to me. I painted this pair for an interpretive sign at the Smithsonian National Zoological Park in Washington, D.C.
