I remember marvelling at the silvery beauty of this fish that I helped catch in July 2000, in Patterson Lake (Livingston County, Michigan). This species is native to North America and found in the Great Lakes area, and is one that I illustrated for Gerald R. Smith’s revision of the field guide Fishes of the Great Lakes Region.
