This Hydrozoans original artwork is archivally matted and framed with regular plexiglass in a black wood frame.
Hydrozoans are a group of marine invertebrates related to jellyfishes and corals. It was fun to see these hydrozoans come to life in white paint on a black surface when I illustrated them for Grzimek’s Animal Life Encyclopedia, 2nd edition. I was especially excited to paint the famous and beautiful Portuguese man o’ war (Physalis physalis).
