This Christmas tree worm original artwork is archivally matted and framed with regular glass in a warm golden-toned wood frame.
Beautiful, multi-colored Christmas tree worms live in Caribbean tropical reefs. They are commonly found embedded in stony corals, such as this brain coral. Sometime after I painted this, I remember being excited to see quite a few of these worms while snorkeling in the Caribbean. Like many marine invertebrates, their unfamiliarity (to me) makes them seem strange and otherworldly. I created this illustration for an article in Sport Diver magazine.
