This Black crappie original artwork is archivally matted and framed, with UV glass and a wood frame* stained black (but with some of the wood grain showing through).
Of the many, many fish illustrations I’ve created over the years, this Black crappie is one of my favorites. I’ve always liked how its fins seem luminous in the medium of colored pencils (a trait that’s easier to see when viewing the original), and the attractively patterned and sizeable dorsal and anal fins give it quite a presence.
*Because I really like this drawing, I’ve exhibited it a few times, and consequently the frame is not in perfect condition, with some minor marks/indentations. Personally, I would have no qualms displaying it as is, but the price for this item is discounted to account for the flaws.
